how to regain sight
In “How to Regain Sight” the life cycles of night-blooming plants and the phases of the moon are the visual signposts for stages of personal transformation. Opening under the light of the moon, night-blooming plants have long been associated with magical states of being, occult practices, and subconscious feelings. The changing phases of the moon have been linked to emotional upheaval and intuitive powers, and the cycles themselves been used ritually for setting intentions and manifesting change. With the unfolding of angel trumpet flowers and the waning of the moon--I am exploring how to see in a place of darkness, how to harness intuition in the face of the unknown.
"How to Regain Sight" was displayed as part of collaborative installation "Cestrum Nocturnum" with Jenna Bonistalli at the Aquarium Gallery, New Orleans. "Cestrum Nocturnum" explored night blooming plants through projections, plant seedlings, and works on paper.
